As the title of this post suggests we've had some nice progress and some minor setbacks. Avery and Ellie traded spots, literally. Avery's bili levels were up again despite the wallaby blanket so she bought herself some time in her own personal "tanning bed" like Ellie had, complete with some rockin' shades. Ellie's levels were way down so she got to come out to play and actually get dressed in clothes for the first time in her short life. Michelle and I both remarked on how much less fragile she looks in clothes (and how much more fragile Avery looks). Mr. Isaiah had a big day today in preparation for likely discharge tomorrow!!! He passed his car seat test (making sure his oxygen saturations stayed solid in that position) and also passed his newborn screening test. Isaiah also got circumsized today. Poor little dude. He's a bit crankier than usual, but not too bad. Oh, and Michelle and I had to watch some safety videos and sign off on them--very exciting. Sorry this is short, but we've been doing a lot today in between feeds. We have a room at the Ronald McDonald house for the rest of our stay here. Tonight we're trying a "split shift" plan where I take the 11pm and 2 a.m. feeds and Michelle takes the 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. feeds solo. Should be an adventure! I'm in the demo room solo until 4:30am so wish me luck!

Two steps forward, one step back

so adorable! Isaiah looks like he's about to be rocketed into space!
ReplyDeleteMari, you do not have to apologize. You have lots to do already and any blog posts are appreciated and enjoyed by so many but taking care of yourselves and the babies is more than a full time commitment! We send our aloha to all five of you....
ReplyDeleteRae is absolutely right. You and Michelle need to take great care of yourselves. The babies are adorable!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Avery is sleeping in a night club the way the bili lights are captured in the picture!
